About me:
Hi, I am Yulya, a curious human exploring life and the human condition from a variety of angles.
In 1998, at the brink of default, I left a small Russian town to go straight to Silicon Valley for an MBA degree with $350 in my pocket.
My adventures since then included living in four countries, hustling in a Silicon Valley startup, burning out at Greenpeace, founding and closing a startup, cold-calling, and more.
Burnout, challenges of solopreneurship, and some devastating personal events threw me into a swirl of self-development and mental health modalities: from coaching to breathwork and biohacking to embodiment, jumping into ice water, and improv.
My life has changed in profound ways since I started training as a wilderness educator and immersed myself in an experience-based study of nature through observation, ritual, science, herbalism, and simply being with the land.
I believe the void and restlessness many of us feel today stem from a lack of deep connection to the natural world we are a part of.
My dream is for more people to reconnect to their wild roots. Not just for the joy, love, and belonging that it brings, but because when we feel part of something, we also begin to care for it.
